Why Repair Paint Work Before Winter

November 14, 2012

Most people at some point in there motoring history will have had car body damage on there vehicle, whether accidental or intentional it can be unsightly and if left can get worse. This article will provide you with all reasons you need to get your car body damage repaired before the onset of winter.

Car Repairs in Winter

Winter Weather

There are not many dry days over winter but there are plenty of wet ones not to mention the snow and occasional sub zero temperatures. All these weather conditions can have adverse effects on your cars body work such as the rapid onset of rust and blown paint and lacquer on body panels. Some damage will not be effected by the winter conditions such as light scratches on the exterior and seat burns on the interior but just about everything else will and if left could increase in severity and therefore cost more to fix at a later date. Basically any form of damage that breaks the paint surface such as key scratches, scuffs, kerbing on wheels, stone chips and cracks can all get worse over the winter months if left.

Winter affects

Once the paint work has been broken and the metal is left bare water and salt from the roads can get into the panel and quicken the onset of rust, this is the same with all metal panels. With scuffs and car scratches on plastic panels such as bumpers and some wings the paint will not rust but will over time start to peel if left, which can cause the lacquer layer to be blown peeling layers off a larger area than originally damaged.

Acting quickly and having your damage repaired before the winter sets in is vital to keeping your car in its best condition and by doing this you don’t have to worry about rust or peeling paint for your damage will be fully sealed and protected. If you can’t afford to have the repairs carried out straight away or its at an inconvenient time then buy some touch up paint and use it to cover the affected areas, this will give the panels some protection and reduce the possibility of rust or peeling paint.

Holiday Blues

June 26, 2012

Just arrived back from our annual holiday to find the weather still is as wet and windy as it was the day we left and a massive difference from the 30 degree heat myself and my family have been injoying for the past 10 days. A break from work is what everyone needs once in a while and he who says that they don’t need one is either telling fibs or high on something.

It’s difficult for a self employed person like myself to have holidays for when we are off from work, its business that surfers for no one wants to wait 10 – 14 days to have a car body repair carried out, and I don’t blame them.

The garages and showrooms we service can’t leave there cars un repaired for longer than 10 business days for they need to constantly turn cars over and can’t afford to leave cars in storage until they are repaired, so thanks for all theses garages that gave me the time off for a break.

It takes a good few weeks to build back up the customer orders to a reasonable level and things do get frantic on our return for the amount of emails and answer phone messages we have to go through are immense.  With these restrictions on the business the annual leave is never more than 14 days or 10 business days, so for all the repeat customers and new ones that hung on in there for our return, thank you.

And for all the customers that had emergencies or jobs that couldn’t wait for our return we hope that you will keep us in mind for further possible body repairs when needed.

There will be no more time off for us until Christmas so no more further interruptions until then, so if you have any form of bumper scratch repair or any other form of car body damage send us an email at sales@carbodyrepairs4less or call us on 0800 0778832 or fill out our quote form and we will be more than happy to help.

Bring on the work.
